‘Anjalika’ to ‘Sanda Diya Salu’
With the success of India – Sri lanka collaboration, ‘Anjalika’, director Channa Perera s new movie ‘Sanda Diya Salu’ will be launched. Official says that the documents between Gemini studio, one of the leading studios in India and the NFC (National Film Corporation) have signed documents for another history making movie. Script and the story was written by Channa Perera himself, will also take part in the main role with ’Anjalika’ as known as, Poja Uma Shankar, the born Sri Lankan Indian Actress. Director of the movie, Channa Perera included that the film will highlight most historical Sri Lankan culture and traditions. "I wanted to show our own traditional values and the importance of cultural values with this film," Channa added. However the movie contains richly beautiful locations in Sri Lanka, which not caught into any other directors. In this join production the budget made to 30 million LKS and not only Sinhala version was released, tamil and tengu dubbed versions were also released in India. Not to mention the newest technology first ever used in Sri Lanka, “Ari 435” German made camera also a fact for this history making movie. The crew followed by Elmo Halliday as the editor, Saliya Liyanarachchi as the art director, Pushpakumara Rajaguru as the cinematographer. Make up will be handled by Priyantha Dissanayake, Rozanne Diaz designs the costumes and Rohana Weerasinghe is responsible for the musical score. Ranjan Prasanna is the assistant director while Prasanna Kithulgama is the production manager.
