After the great success of ‘Parliament Jokes’ and ‘One Shot One’, Director and Lead Actor, Ranjan Ramanayaka is ready to release his newest movie “The Leader” this year (2008). The Producer, Bevan Perera said that this will be released in India at end of May fall.

Bevan Perera, London-based businessman who was taking a major part in this event, is willing to promote Sri Lankan local cinema across the globe.

More than a massive 2 million has been spent to direct movie and dubbed with 30 other foreign languages including Tamil and Telegu copies. Several other copies will also be released across the middle east countries including Dubai, UAE, Lebanon, Oman , Kuwait.

Ranjan said that he will re-shoot the movie, adding some comedy sequence with some of the lead comedians in India, promoting the asian countries internationally.

The producer Bevan said that the film industry is a very competitive business, and in this, commercial cinema or films for entertainment plays a pivotal role.

“I am extremely happy about the whole product which cost me more than 60 million and I am confident that the people of this country will appreciate the movie like they did Ranjan’s previous films,” Bevan added. Bevan also explained that this film has not ridiculed or hurt the feelings of any handicapped civilian nor has it insulted any character.

The key roles of this movie follow by Ranjan Ramanayake, Ardeen Khan, Anton Jude, Anusha Damayanthi, Janesh Silva, Chathura Perera, Babu Anthony, D. B. Gangodathenna, Sandun Wijesiri, Kinglsey Lous and many others.

This around-the-globe-promoting film will also introduce some of the new comers, like young musician Suneth Kelum, who had done some of the songs in the movie with the Gypsise lead singer, Sunil Perera.

“In addition to these foreign offers we are also talking to some satellite television channels who are keen to telecast our film.”

In the near future, Bevan is also planning to release new movies using latest cinema technology. From this first giant step made by joining with the Indian cinema, he is planning to release many, staring lead actors like Sharuk Kahn, Amitha Bachchan and many others.
