VIDEO: The lesser vicious White Tigers...
With accusations of ‘white tigers’ being bandied about in the political circles, where foreign government officials were branded as such for pro-LTTE antics, there were two ‘White Tigers’ (Panthera tigris tigris) – possibly less vicious than the two-legged species – which were kept for public display at the National Zoological Gardens at Dehiwala today. Brought to the island end last month from Chinaunder an animal exchange programme, these animals are an endangered species. A recessive gene creates the pale colour and they are not albinos as generally believed and are not a sub-species either.
